Alexia Lowery
Lab Assistant

Alexia is a lab assistant who graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. Throughout her academic journey, she developed a deep fascination with the complexities of the brain and nervous system, which led her to join the Pokam Lab in the summer of 2024. In this lab, she has had the opportunity to work closely with advanced imaging techniques and data analysis tools, gaining proficiency in MATLAB and Fiji. These tools have enabled her to analyze neural activity and investigate cellular mechanisms at a microscopic level, enhancing her understanding of how neurons communicate and function within the brain. Her hands-on experience through surgeries related to traumatic brain injuries has further strengthened her passion for neuroscience, particularly in exploring the molecular and cellular aspects of neurological processes. As she continues to learn and grow in the field, she is driven by her long-term goal of attending medical school and becoming a neurologist. In her free time, Alexia enjoys thrifting and reading.
