Anaya is an undergraduate researcher in the Pokam Lab at Texas A&M University. As a sophomore Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience major with a passion for medicine, she joined the lab in January 2025 to expand her knowledge of traumatic brain injuries and refine her skills in data analysis. Working with MATLAB and Suite2p, she gains hands-on experience processing neural imaging data while exploring the complexities of brain function and injury. Anaya aspires to become a surgeon, specializing in either plastic or orthopedic surgery, and is looking forward to applying her research experience to her future medical career. Outside of the lab, Anaya loves to dance, listen to music, and get lost in a good book.
